Who is in Control?

I should start by telling you that I believe in the spiritual/supernatural 👻 I may have grown up going to church ⛪ However, I do not continue attending as an adult because I am "religious" 🙅 I go because I believe I had an amazing encounter with the Holy Spirit when I was around 8 years old. Suddenly God became real to me 🙌 I could not physically see Him with my own two eyes 👀 but I could sense His presence in the room during service and since then have been hooked ever since 🙇

I understand why many others who also grew up going to church may no longer go as an adult 👎 There have been plenty of times I wanted to stop going myself 😑 Dealing with other people who are constantly rude, mean, and sometimes outright dismissive will wear a person down 😫 The fact that they can claim to be doing it "for God" just sickens me even more 😕

We can fool ourselves into thinking we are "fine,” and will go to Heaven when we die. But how true is that really? How often have you received an epiphany and realize how off your opinions were back in the day? Now you are embarrassed at your past self 🤦 That is an example of how ignorant we once were.

Sometimes I think that people refuse to believe in God, or no longer want to attend church, because they simply desire to control their own destiny. As human beings we do not want anybody else to decide it for us. We want to determine how our own lives will go, and cannot fathom giving that up 😨 Who else could possibly know us better than ourselves?

My response?

How about the Creator of the universe?

If you can acknowledge Him as being so powerful that He created everything with a breathe. That He just had to simply say it and it became true. Then is He not more incredibly powerful than mankind? If you do not believe that then please just humor me. If He is who He says He is. Then does that not make Him so much bigger than us? Is He not in a higher plane of existence?

There are so many more questions that could be asked but I will refrain. I just ask that you consider how much control of your own life are you willing to give up? Please do not think that surrendering completely to Him is a burden or a chore. I truly believe that He does know what is best for us better than anyone. Giving up our desire for control is not an unpleasant sacrifice. It is a freeing choice that will bring soothing peace deep within ourselves. We will not have to keep getting stressed out and overwhelmed by the pressures of life. No. We have free will, therefore the freedom to make the choice to give up control, or keep it to ourselves.

Are you at least willing to consider it? 🤔
