Proverbs 29:25 Devotion

SCRIPTURE
Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
    but trusting the LORD means safety.

OBSERVATION
One of the biggest dangers I see from people is the fear of other people. They justify their actions out of this fear, but lose sight of the evils that has been committed. This makes leaders fall, and breaks dear relationships. As David Crowder sang in a song, "Fear is no good reason to believe in anything."

APPLICATION
Fear of man only leads to death and destruction. Fear of the LORD is a much more secure foundation.

PRAYER
Almighty God,

May I fear You above all else. You are the Creator of the universe. You are the First and the Last. There is no one higher than You. When I put my hope, my faith, my trust in You then I am secure. When I surrender to You then I am loved. Be my everything. I live to worship You.

Upcoming Battle?

I have been having disturbing dreams lately 😣 I wish I could share what they were, but unfortunately do not remember them 😕 Fortunately I still remember what I dreamt last night, and it was not that disturbing 😌 The dream came across like an anime. At first things were normal, and I was hanging out with my friends. I seemed to be either in high school or college and going through the typical things students deal with. Then suddenly I either fell asleep, or willingly transported myself and my best friend into another place. It was in a spiritual realm and we were in a vast area that had multiple shelves full of books. There was another, more mature, person with us, and he was tasked to be like a guard. The Widow's Offering

Mark 12:41-44 NLT Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts.   Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said,  “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions.   For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.” "For they gave a tiny  part of their surplus ..." How often do we give a tiny part of our surplus to others? Whenever I come across beggars I would like to give them a dollar to be a little generous. But see what I just said there? I said "a little  generous." It is like I am patting myself on the back for giving one dollar out the many dollars I have available.  How often do we do that with God?
