Proverbs 27 Devotion

SCRIPTURE
Know the state of your flocks,
    and put the heart into caring for your herds,
for riches don't last forever,
    and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears
    and the mountain grasses are gathered in,
your sheep will provide wool for clothing,
    and your goats will provide the price of a field.
And you will have enough goats' milk for yourself,
    your family, and your servant girls.

-verses 23-27

OBSERVATION
We need to be responsible for things that God has placed us in authority over. Parents need to be responsible for their children. Students need to be responsible for their studies. Employees need to be responsible for their work. Supervisors need to be responsible over the people they supervise. If we do not take inventory over our responsibilities then we will suffer devastating consequences.

APPLICATION
Therefore we should know the state of our responsibilities, and put our hearts into their care.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father,

Thank You for knowing the state of my heart, mind, and soul. Thank You for putting Your heart into my care 😭 May I produce a harvest a hundred-fold then what You planted. May I herd all Your precious lambs and goats into Your Kingdom. May I not leave a single one behind. May I feed my brothers and sisters, and Your servants, Your spiritual milk.

May I bring You glory!
Amen

Upcoming Battle?

I have been having disturbing dreams lately 😣 I wish I could share what they were, but unfortunately do not remember them 😕 Fortunately I still remember what I dreamt last night, and it was not that disturbing 😌 The dream came across like an anime. At first things were normal, and I was hanging out with my friends. I seemed to be either in high school or college and going through the typical things students deal with. Then suddenly I either fell asleep, or willingly transported myself and my best friend into another place. It was in a spiritual realm and we were in a vast area that had multiple shelves full of books. There was another, more mature, person with us, and he was tasked to be like a guard. The Widow's Offering

Mark 12:41-44 NLT Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts.   Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said,  “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions.   For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.” "For they gave a tiny  part of their surplus ..." How often do we give a tiny part of our surplus to others? Whenever I come across beggars I would like to give them a dollar to be a little generous. But see what I just said there? I said "a little  generous." It is like I am patting myself on the back for giving one dollar out the many dollars I have available.  How often do we do that with God?
