Proverbs 25 Devotion

SCRIPTURE
Don't demand a audience with the king
or push for a place among the great.
It's better to wait for an invitation to the head table
than to be sent away in public disgrace.
-verses 6-7a

OBSERVATION
We tend to think very highly of ourselves, and deserve high honors amongst the people. Therefore, we can overestimate our value to society. For example, I have seen people think they are great businessmen and are at the level of CEO. However, their abilities do not line up to their attitude ๐Ÿ˜• If they were as good as they seem to think they are then their talent will shine through, but the results do not line up. They may be in position of authority, yet whatever they are responsible for is very disorganized and inefficient.

APPLICATION
We need to accurately assess our limitations, and submit to the levels God created us to be. We will be much happier that way.

PRAYER
Almighty God,

Creator of the universe. All praise, honor, and glory unto You alone! Forgive me for my sin that made me think I am better than I really am. Sometimes I can be so full of pride that I forget my place and overstep my boundaries. Please humble me always. It may hurt, and be very painful, but I deserve Your discipline. You are my Lord and Master. There is no one higher than You. Sometimes I may think I am up to Your level, but may I soon chastise myself for my foolishness and return back to submission under Your will.

I live to feel Your infinite embrace,
Amen
