Proverbs 24 Devotion

SCRIPTURE
If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. -v. 10

OBSERVATION
God has revealed to me how weak we truly are. We may deceive ourselves to thinking we have what it takes, but as Proverbs 24:10 states, "If you fail under pressure..." I have seen time and time again how we act like fools, yet keep committing the same mistakes over and over again. It shows how prideful we are when we cannot admit failure and keep pressing on. Albert Einstein is credited for saying, "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." We can replace the word insanity and say, "Weakness and foolishness: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

APPLICATION
WE NEED GOD! Plain and simple. We need to completely submit and surrender to the One True Living God and let Him take full control over our lives. We should not foolishly hold on to our pride and think we know better. We are sinners, and we need the Holy Trinity to redeem us and lead us into righteousness.

PRAYER
Almighty God,

Uncreated One who brings life and death with but a breathe. Forgive me for my unrighteousness and trying to determine the course of my own life. Without You I am weak, frail, and prone to failure. Cleanse me from my sin, and keep me within Your holiness so I can remain pure. In You I am strong. You do all the work, and I am just the tool You utilize to get the work done. May I get out of the way, and quit trying to help You. Not my will but Your will be done.

Upcoming Battle?

I have been having disturbing dreams lately 😣 I wish I could share what they were, but unfortunately do not remember them 😕 Fortunately I still remember what I dreamt last night, and it was not that disturbing 😌 The dream came across like an anime. At first things were normal, and I was hanging out with my friends. I seemed to be either in high school or college and going through the typical things students deal with. Then suddenly I either fell asleep, or willingly transported myself and my best friend into another place. It was in a spiritual realm and we were in a vast area that had multiple shelves full of books. There was another, more mature, person with us, and he was tasked to be like a guard. The Widow's Offering

Mark 12:41-44 NLT Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts.   Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said,  “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions.   For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.” "For they gave a tiny  part of their surplus ..." How often do we give a tiny part of our surplus to others? Whenever I come across beggars I would like to give them a dollar to be a little generous. But see what I just said there? I said "a little  generous." It is like I am patting myself on the back for giving one dollar out the many dollars I have available.  How often do we do that with God?
